I'm interesting... no really I am lol

So when I got my iphone I decided to join the world of Twitter (sigh). I told myself at the time it was so I could read tweets from makeup/nail polish companies and be aware of new products.

However I must now admit I also occasionally find the urge to tweet myself. I'm not promising to be particularly active, hilarious or inspiring but if you would like to hear something random from the world of Jac (AKA Chloeblue2005) you can follow me here.

More importantly I can then follow you and read to all the hilarious and inspiring things you tweet about instead!

Happy Tuesday everyone :)

An experiment with China Glaze Crackle Polishes.

I recently ordered 3 of China Glaze's crackle polishes in the shades -Black Mesh, Fault Line and Crushed Candy. And yes that is my camera cord in the shot but it was also my best one so just ignore it please lol.

I had a very feeble first attempt with Black Mesh

After this I wasn't sure what to think... apart from DISAPPOINTED. So I decided to do an experiment. Being a complete nerd I have swatched a lot of my colours on nail wheels and I decided to sacrifice my Ulta 3 one for the cause.

Notice how much better these turned out... I sure did! I am actually wondering if cheaper nail polish underneath is better because ALL of these had more crackle than my fingers and they were all applied by brushing from middle to edge. It also gives a great insight into what the base colour needs to be for the crackle to really look good. My favourite is 4th from the right - purple with orange polish underneath.

Has anyone else been enjoying crackle time? How have your creations worked out?

But wait there's more...

Gosh I seem to be no real further caught up in my posts than I was a few weeks ago so I thought I would do a quick dump of what lovelies have made their way to my home (and heart):
  • Too Faced Neutral Eye Kit - got mine from ebay and I am IN LOVE. A great alternative to the Naked palette (I assume) for those who like a bit of shimmer.
  • Gucci's Flora - I got mine in Melbourne on a St Patrick's day special. Just a gorgeous feminine fragrance that is a little sweet and very light. Bliss!
  • Wet n Wild palettes in Silent Treatment and I'm getting sunburned - haven't touched them yet. I'm hoping they will be just as awesome as Walking on Eggshells
  • Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gioia - this has been my best friend over summer. A true delight and it was my first dip into the Giorgio Armani fragrance range. BTW have you seen the advertising for this one - she is stunning and airbrushed lol.
  • Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse - still trying this one out but so far so good. It's not eligible to be a HG foundation for me as it has no sunscreen.

I also got a lovely parcel from Su after entering a giveaway on her site to try some of her blends. But being as lovely and generous as she is I ended up with quite a delightful collection of treasures which I have to take a picture of to share here. My job/pleasure for next week is to try out her fragrances and report back. I am super impressed by anyone brave and talented enough to do their own blending. Go Su!

Weather in Adelaide has been crappy which I really don't mind except sometimes I need sunlight or just a bit of light in general to take some snap shots. I'm hoping that there will be a chance to do a bit of a swatchapoolza on the weekend.

Clearing the backlog NOTD x 3

Ok I am soooooooo behind on my swatching so here are a couple of complete stunners that have been gracing my nails recently. After that is an extremely average attempt at crackling.

On vacation

Hi everyone:) Just a quick message as I sit here at the airport to let you know I will be in Melbourne for the next couple of days. On my nails is China Glaze's Coconut kiss ... Mind you I have no idea what a rich purple has to do with coconuts lol. Picture coming!

This is not a post about Makeup.

Recently I have found it difficult to make myself sit down and write or take pictures or experiment with new products. I started to think that maybe I was running out of steam and that maybe blogging wasn't for me. But in the last couple of days I have realised that the reason my posting has been so sporadic is that I haven't been writing about what's been consuming me. So here goes...
