Mauvement Perfection.

I love MAC's pigments, in particular I love Tan, Shimmertime and now the lovely Mauvement, which I purchased a full size of just before Christmas. This colour is fantastic example of a neutral but not boring colour that makes a little neutral lover like me very excited. I've taken some pics below in sunlight at varying angles to show just how complex and pretty this one is - (no primer used)

While this one is called "Mauve" ment, on me it just throws a pretty golden warmth on my skin, as opposed to that unfortunate purplish bruise look I get with many purple based products. It is shimmery without being chunky and I have worn this several times as an all over eye lid colour. The only con for me (apart from the price which is always prohibitive ) is the packaging. I find it a little difficult to get just a small amount without making a huge mess everywhere. Grrr...

Mauvement was a limited edition product but you may still be able to pick it up at a MAC store near you or online.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipsticks

While in Melbourne a few weeks ago, I got a sms from Dee advising that Chemist Warehouse were going to have a sale on Maybelline products and they were offering 3 Colour Sensational lipsticks for $20 (She's such an enabler lol). Anyway dutifully the next day I popped into a Chemist Warehouse and picked up 3 new lovelies. Below I have swatched them with the one I already had in the colour Nearly There (205).

If you are not already familiar with the Colour Sensational Lipsticks then I am happy to report that this range comes in a heap of colours - split into 3 colour tubes - pink, brown and red. The finish of the shades is varied with creme and shimmer shades across the colour groups. The packaging is (IMO) lovely and doesn't scream "cheap lipstick here" which is nice. My only issue is the scent, it's some kind of fake sweet something (maybe caramel?). Personally I don't like the smell but it wouldn't stop me from purchasing more of these in the future.

I have swatched the four together here - so you can see they are all different colours because a couple look almost identical on my lips below.

Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette.

So around the time of black Saturday last year I found myself eyeing off some palettes from Coastal Scents (yes I do know you can get a lot of the same ones on ebay but I still  find myself checking their site regularly). In particular the Fall Festival Palette caught my eye - have a look for yourself -

Golden Globes Gorgeousness

In one of my more disturbing quirks, not only do I love Award ceremonies but I tear up listing to moving speeches and heartfelt happiness. Under medicated you ask...yeah maybe lol. Here are a couple of looks I loved from the GGs yesterday.

I just loved this dress from Megan Fox..so simple, yet stunning with the ribbon work in the bodice section.

Although I am not a fan, I loved Angelina in this gorgeous green ... oh how I love green.

And finally, the colour of this dress from Jenna Ushkowitz is also stunning (IMO)

What also struck me as I flicked through the images was how simple the eye looks were. Mostly it was just about the lashes and a gorgeous lip colour. I love that kind of simplicity, so pretty and feminine

Which looks did you guys love/hate?

NOTD: China Glaze Atlantis

While on holidays I have been wearing my more offensive/non-corporate nail colours. I do wear these ones while at work - but sometimes I feel the need to hide my nails lol. In the spirit of look-at-me nails have a look at Atlantis.

I have been lusting after this colour ever since I saw a swatch by Stefanie of the Lip Print. All pictures below are with 2 coats and a top coat (the finish is a little rough being a glitter so I used a top coat to make it smoother).

Love! I got mine from Head2Toe Beauty.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Liners

I love when the newest makeup craze happens and there is quite the buzz around these products since Dee posted her swatches recently. I also noticed this morning that the lovely Melbournite had also posted some swatches. I thought I'd add mine to the collection as I have a couple of different colours and swatches have been difficult to find up until the work of these lovely ladies.

Cham Pale Anyone?

As you can imagine a collection like Cham Pale has had me tingling to my toes for quite sometime and as I am on holidays I have had plenty of time to study swatches and make a lengthy shopping list. In fact I even had time to organise one of my Christmas presents to be a $100 of whatever I want Cham Pale. I confirmed the release date in Australia of 10/1/11 and so earlier today I went in to test it all out and make my selections. So let's have a look at my new pretty things...

Vintage Selection Paint Pot, Rose Ole Special Reserve Highlight Powder and Bubble Lounge  Lipgelee.

Taking it all a bit too seriously I think

This is the longest that I have gone without writing anything on my blog and I think I know why - I needed a break. While my blog is very new I still felt a lot of pressure to write kick ass reviews, take amazing professional pictures and be all clever and humorous all the time. And here's the secret...I'm not any of those things. I am not a professionally trained beauty person...I just like sparkly things. My opinions are just those, just opinions not deep, clinical analysis. I am also not a professional photographer lol.

To be honest I think I was putting too much pressure on myself to produce something better than I am able to at the moment, after all blogging is a learning process. So now the pressure is off, at least the pressure I was putting on myself. I feel a bit silly writing this but I think I needed to get this out of my head to start enjoying the blogging process again. Has anyone else felt this way?

Anyway I have numerous reviews and swatches to share and so will be posting those in the coming days and weeks - although I am in Melbourne next week to see my mum.

Hope you all had a safe holiday season and that 2010 brings wonderful things your way. As always thanks so much for stopping by
