Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette.

So around the time of black Saturday last year I found myself eyeing off some palettes from Coastal Scents (yes I do know you can get a lot of the same ones on ebay but I still  find myself checking their site regularly). In particular the Fall Festival Palette caught my eye - have a look for yourself -

Well no surprises for guessing I did order it - lol - and with 20% off for Thanksgiving, the palette and shipping came to around $24USD, which I thought was entirely reasonable. The palette arrived with the case and eye shadows separate (they are held in by magnets on the eyeshadow pans and palette now). Personally I think this is awesome as you could choose to set this palette up anyway you like, or place the shadows in another palette if you wanted to. They also have a pic on the site so you can place the shadows in the right spots if you choose (which is what I decided to do). It was also my first experience with coastal scents hot pots and I have to say I am pretty impressed.

What drew me to this palette is that it is neutral(ish) without being boring. A lot of the colours included are shimmer apart from the top left and bottom right colours which are matte, but again I prefer shimmer colours so I was happy with that. The next test to pass for me was texture and colour payoff. I have taken shots of each row so judge for yourself (all pictures taken in sunlight with no primer)-

I think the colour payoff is fantastic and I cannot wait to get into using this palette when I return to work. The only con (and in the scheme of things it's probably not really a con) is that the palette opening is a little stiff. The quality of the palette and the eye shadows is excellent, I love the huge mirror and the palette feels solid which is another plus for me. I would go back for more except I have WAY TOO MANY eye shadows... as I am sure we all do hee hee!

  2. I must say I am very impressed with the quality on the whole... the 88 palettes were a different story though.
